- In Indonesia, research aimed to obtain superior type of tea had been carried out since before the second World War. Several numbers had been released as improved clones. This study is to pre-evaluate performance of the promising number of tea clones derived from crossing of several parental types done by the Tea Research Institute at Gambung. Based on the made tea production (after being converted into kilogram per hectare op per year), there are ten entries yielded over 3000 kg. TR/-2025 which is presently-an outstanding clone fell into the ninth rank, while PSC-1059 occupied the first rank followed by PSKP-3-1023 which is known as Gambung-2. Intisari Di Indonesia, penelitian yang ditujukan untuk memperoleh jenis teh unggul telah dilakukan sejak sebelum Perang Dunia Kedua. Beberapa klon unggul telah dilepas ke lapangan. Kajian ini bertujuan sebagai pengujian awal penampilan beberapa klon teh unggul yang berasal dari persilangan beberapa tipe parental di BPTK Gambung. Berdasar pada produksinya (dikonversikan dalam kilogram per hektar per tahun), ada sepuluh jenis (tipe) yang berproduksi lebih dari 3 000 kg. TRI-2625 yang merupakan klon sampai sekarang ini hanya termasuk peringkat ke sembilan, sementara peringkat pertama diduduki oleh PSC-1059 diikuti oleh PSKP-3- 1023 yang dikenal sebagai Gambung-2.
