- Analysis aimed to identify superior genotypes of tea were performed using eight clones planted in December, 1974. A one year data of 1989 on monthly fresh leaves production (average of one time plucking) was evaluated based on the Eberhart and Russell stability analysis model. Monthly variations as environments were assumed to be random and a combined analysis of variance was used to determine the existence of gebetype-environment (GE) interaction. The results of mean yield, coefficient of regression, and deviation from regression indicate that TRI-20 25 showed the best stable clone followed by CIN-143 and TRI-2024. Stability analysis proposed by Eberhart and Russell may be applied on perennial crops in a plantation as long as it meets the condition in determining the environmental index.
