  • ABSTRAK Isolation and characterization of coconut oil separating microbes were examined. The isolates were obtain from fermentation process using crab inoculum 14 yeast isolates and 15 bacterial isolates were found. Their biochemical Characterization showed that 34,5% have lipolytic activity, 17,24% have proteolytic activity, 24,14% are able to degrade lipids and proteins, and 24,12% do not able in degrading lipids not proteins. Examination of their ability to separate coconut oil showed that single strain inoculation enhance 25,46 - 42,08% volume of refined coconut oil, and by mixed culture inoculation, volume of refined coconut oil enhance 54,62 - 98,46%.
