- The increase of the elderly lead to the problems of referring in physical and social circumstances. It does continue the elder to progressively less profit, which live, in the hinterland. The aim of the study was to know the problem that deals with dietary pattern, nutrition and the health of the elder at long house. This was a qualitative research with the participative approach. The method of pooling information by participative technique. The variables were knowledge, attitude and behavioral of nutrition and health, dietary pattern and its relation with social life. The information gotten from the elder, the culture society, the puskesmas worker, the manager of countryside, and custom by triangulation oriented. This research succeeded to express the knowledge, attitude and behavior the elder at long house and various aspect of deal with cultural social. Generally, the environment influencing the life of the elder and society of Sahapm, including the nutrition and health. Many elders experience the nutritional problem. This was happened because of their dependency on nature as its foodstuff source. Whereas, the environment (farm, rice field, river, garden and forest) had its limitation-providing foodstuff in type and it's also discontinue. It was concluded that nutrition problem of the elder at longhouse went together with the availability of foodstuff hanging from nature. On the other hand, health problem was related with the view and belief of the cause of illness. Keywords: elder-long house -Dayak -dietary pattern -social culture
