  • ABSTRAK Urban public transport is needed by city society who has middle and low income especially captive passenger in Yogyakarta. The existing conditions of public transport are complaint by passengers such as long travel time, stop at any locations, dirty, and unsafe. Effort to be made in order the number of vehicle raises, furthermore it can attract new market share from choice passengers. This research tried to determine the market share from captive and choice passengers. Captive passengers are defined as passengers who have no car or vehicle while choice passengers is other wise. Using the stated preferences technique, some data were collected with 180 respondents form both groups. Hence it was utilised ordered probit model to analysis discrete data where dependent variable is ordinal. The results of this research show that the market share's probabilities for captive passengers were for definitely departure choice of willingness to pay (64.32%) with flat fare, travel time faster than 10 minutes, and music, meanwhile for probably departure, it was 26.54% as the existing condition of bus. However, the market share's probabilities for choice passengers were 32.82% for definitely departure and 26.52% for probably departure choice with flat fare, headway less than 10 minutes, get a seat surely, and music.
