  • In order to give good tractive stability and constant large draft of tractor, an application of spring control mounting system on plow was developed. The result of laboratory test proved that the system could response the low frequency variation caused by the variation of soil condition, soil hardness and the variation of tillage depth with phase angle lags about 90°. The result also proved that in order to avoid hunting, the natural frequency of the spring should be larger than 20 radisee. The study of field experiment was conducted to observe the hitching, steering and plowing performance. The result proved that the application of spring control mounting system has given some advantages on improvement of hitching force stability and acceleration of insertion of plow in soil. The system also reduced wheel slip, increased working velocity and field capacity, reduced fuel consumption and also reduced intensity of steering control by operator. Due to the short sole of plow which used in the construction of the system, hard layer under pulverized soil was not formed well. Key words : hitching force, field capacity, steering control
