  • ABSTRAK One of the technique in soil stability is the use of additional cement (Portland Cement) material, which is then called as the soil-cement. Delay in compaction of soil-cement may cause serious loss in strength. The research objective is to explore the influence of the use of cane sugar to the strength of the soil-cement that endures compaction delay. The research is done to soil mixed with cement concentrations of 6%r, 8%, 10%, 12%, and 14% and added with 0.5% cane sugar (the comparation of the weight to the water used). Strength of soil-cement in term of unconfined compression strength is examined using the unconfined compression test on specimens cured in 28 days. Research results show that the use of cane sugar in soil-cement increases the soil-cement strength and cope with the loss in strength due to delay in compaction. Cement concentration of 107% is the optimum cencentration to obtain the best comparation value of unconfined compression strength hetvveen the soil-cement with cane sugar to the soil-cement without cane sugar for up 16 4 hours compaction delay.
