  • ABSTRAK Fusel oil which consists of mainly iso amyl alcohol from the waste of cane sugar industry can be converted into isopentane using catalysts made of metal or metal oxide supported by zeolite. Based on these facts, the purposes of this research are to develop catalyst suitable for the process and to hydrogenolysis the fusel oil in a micro flow reactor consisted of solid catalysts. Procedure of catalyst development includes several stages: activation of catalyst support, impregnation, calcination, oxidation and reduction. Several procedure and parameter conditions in the process of catalyst development have been made in order to get optimum result. Two methods were employed for impregnation process: dipping and vaporization. The impregnation process was also done in two ways: individual impregnation where the metal I was impregnated first and then followed by metal II
