- Pantak is one element in the religious system of Kanayatn people, it has important role in almost all their existence. Nowadays, pantak is a material thing and then more lost, because stolen for souvenir or rotten of time. But, pantak in a immaterial is still live in a culture of Kanayatn community system. It is the reason, interesting for description iri order that increased knowledge about local society (indigenous people). In general, this study has purpose to express the function and the meaning of pantak in the live of Kanayatn people. Functionally behaviour of Kanayatn people in relating the pantak doesn't meet individual need. But, that is reflect about agreement reached of ideas and values was be internalized in the Kanayatn culture system. Characteristic this study is depth description in nature, and uses the qualitative approach. Data were collected by partisipant observation and indepth interview. This study is also provided by literature studies. This result of this study shows that the pantak is form a part of Kanayatn religion system, that function as worship media, place for prayers, symbol of unity social world and natural world (hang aras). For them, pantak is a model of cosmology, cosmogony and escatology
