The phenomenon of Indonesian labour migration to Malaysia increases from time to time. This increase is included the quantity of the illegal migrant which sometimes causes problem in the countries of origin or the countries of destination. This study was carried out in a collaboration with a parallel survey by a research team of the PSC-GMU, so some of the data used here were originally obtained from the outcome of the survey. Secondly, the positive impact of labour migration is more material such as the phisical development of the village. The non material impact is more negative for the migrant, their family, even for the society. Thirdly, the impact of migration activity (especially negative impact related to protection) basically there is no significant differences between legal and illegal migrant.
