Such stressful life-events may specifically link with individual vulnerability constellation as a key fits into a lock, leading to fragil integrative capacity mechanism and inevitably produces susceptibility of depression psychopathological outbreak. A cross-sectional study invesatigating the frequency of psychosocial stressors among ambulatory patients with depression in Sardjito General Hospital during the period of September to October 1988 had been deliberately carried-out. Holmes and Rahe list of stressful life-events and Wheaton psychosocial stressors based questionaires were used for assessing acute and chronic stressors respectively, while MMPI Scale 2 was instituted for depression diagnostic device.
