  • Activated mordenite has been used for sorption of Zn2+from simulated wastewater. Two simple kinetic models were investigated. Those were external mass transfer from bulk to surface and pseudo homogenous second order model. It was found that the pseudo homogenous second order model fit the experimental data. The variables studied were mixing rate (N), temperature (V, diameter of zeolite (di), and zeolite loading (w). It was observed that constant rate constant was affected by mixing rate (N), temperature (7), zeolite diameter (do) and zeolite loading (w). In addition, it was observed that external mass transfer had significant effect on sorption ofZn2+. Keywords: Sorption, zeolite (mordenite), psudohomogenous
