- ABSTRACT In the development of platinum catalyst, there are, several steps to be followed: impregnation, calsination, oxidation and reduction. There are two methods in the impregnation processes: vaporization and dipping. Several tests were used for catalyst characterization such as surface area, pore distribution, pore size, and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results of the catalyst development show that vaporization method gives better impregnation than dipping method. The reaction rate measurements of catalytic oxidation were done in a differential micro-reaCtor. The experimental results show that the catalyst developed in the -laboratory can be used for oxidation of combustible waste gases up to 98.5 % conversion.
