- Certain intestinal parasitic infections may cause diarrhoea, amoebic liver abcess and anemia.This paper, report frequencies and clinical manifestation of some intestinal parasitic infections. The data were obtain from the result of consultation and stool examination by using Kato's thick smear method and Ritchie's method during the period of 1990 through 1992 in the Laboratory of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University. The frequency of the intestinal parasites between the males and the females is not significantly different. There are two main clinical manifestation of the intestinal parasitic infections i.e. diarrhoea caused by E histolytica and anemia caused by hookworm and T trichiura either as single or mixed infection.
