- An investigation to the steam generating plant in Madukismo sugar cane factory has been performed to determine the cost of product. This activity was carried out by collecting field data of sugar cane factory and the data was used as operation parameter data of initial configuration. Further investigation was performed for several proposed configuration, in which case changes of operation parameter such as steam pressure and structural interconnection mass balance, energy balance, exergy balance, and cost balance were taken into account. The calculation of several different cofiguration resulted that an improvement was found in the average unit exergoeconomic cost or the average production cost, from 6,97 USD/MWh in configuration number I (K lx) to 6.40 USD/MWh in configuration number 2 (K2y3). The production cost obtained from this calculation was a result of roughly varied parameters. Hence, it is posible to make further investigation by performing parameter fine-tuning to understand the effect of the units to the flows and vice versa.
