- Adsoption of dilute phenol solution in a fixed bed column contained zeolite has been performed. The main objective of the work was to evaluate parameters that came up in a mathematical model. The parameters that would be evaluated were volumetric mass transfer coefficient, Kea, dispersion coefficient, effective diffusivity of phenol in the zeolite, D. and equilibrium constant, H . Phenol solution of 10 ppm was poured into a phenol storage tank. The fixed bed column was filled up with aquadest in order to saturate zeolite in the bed. To study the effect of Reynolds number, phenol solution was flowed into the column with the linear velocities between 0.0675 and 0.1688 cm/sec. The particle diameter studied were between 0.1001 and 0.4013 cm. Every 10 minutes interval, effluent from column was sampled and analyzed its phenol content. Evaluation of experimental data shows that the average values of H is 6x10-2 mUg zeolite. Effective diffusivity phenol in zeolite are between 0,10x10-9 111x10-9 cm2/sec. The relationship between Sherwood number and other factors in terms of dimensionless groups is : )-0.8385i_ -0.8057 Sch3 D S )=5.2178Re°A°28( Z uz iiP which gives an average error of 0.78% and holds for Re between 1.3 and 5.2
