Daftar Isi:
- Based on the host range studies, 10 out of 36 weed species tested by latex serology might harbor tungro viruses (RTV) during off season. The weed species are Brachiaria mutica (Forsk.) Stapf, Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers., Cyperus Rotundus L, Echinochloa Colona (L.) Link, E. crus-galli (L.) Beauu., Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn, Fimbristylis miliaceae (L.) Vahl, Imperata cylindrica L., Ischaemum rugosum Salisb., and Leersia hexandra Swartz. Tungro symptoms on these species are unclear. The electron microscopic studies of virus particles by leaf dip method showed that only spherical particles (RTSV) exist but not the bacilliform particles (RTBV). This method is the most reliable to look for the present of virus in the infected plant. Key words: rice tungro virus (RTV) -- host range
