- The area of southern North Bum district, buru Regency, Maluku province which has been designed for land extended cultivar is cacao. However, data on detailed land suitability at management unit level was not been available yet. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a research aimed to identify actual and potential land suitability at management unit level in the research area. The present research exploited survey method with analytical pattern approach. Data gathered in the field were slope steepness, slope length soil drainage condition, effective soil depth, soil chemical properties were treated as scondary data. Land suitability was determined using comparison method between available land quality at individual land unit based on suitability criterions of cultivated for cacaos. Based on comparison results on 13 land unit, four actual land suitability were found as the following : (1) S3wf with an area of 3094,1 ha (46,35%)
