  • ABSTRAK Fifteen R. solanacearum isolates of solanaceous crops in Yogyakarta were collected for further investigation on their physiological, biochemical, and pathogenicity on their respective hosts. On CPG medium, colonies were white, opaque and fluidal. None of the isolate produced fluorescent pigment on Kingis B medium, but all isolates produced melanin pigment on CPG + tyrosin medium. On . TZC medium, produced fluidal, pink with light red centers colonies. Bacteria was a gram negative and rod shaped. All isolates were negative for starch hydrolysis, gelatin liquefaction, and arginin, denitrification (not all isolates) levan formation, growth at 13°C, 15°C, and 47°C, growth at pH 4 and 4,5, growth in 2% NaCl medium. All isolates were positive for catalase, Oxidize, PHB accumulation, esculin hydrolysis (not all isolates), utilized citrat, growth at 24, 30 dan 37, 41°C (not all isolates), growth at 5
