  • Software is often used in data processing coal exploration, both surface geological data and the data of drilling to produce a digital model of the coal geology at the moment is using Minescape and Surpac software. Each software has its own advantages and disadvantages in modeling coal resources. Comparative study in terms of the data entered, data validation, process, and output as well as further applications in coal mining, be interesting to know and understand the advantages and disadvantages of each software. So the second attempt the use of software applications can be optimized to determine the coefficient of variance, the precision and accuracy of a model of the coal resource. Method of calculation and modeling-quality coal used in Minescape and Surpac have use of different methods. In Minescape using the polygon method and the merger between the triangle method. While in Surpac using inverse distance method in the reading drill points. Unlike the case in the distribution of coal quality, the Minescape using Surpac extrapolation distance while still using the inverse distance method. The results of the coal tonnage calculations in the study area is 490506.01 tons of measured resource, 286397.6 tonnes of Indicated sumbredaya, and 9344.17 tons to measure resource with a total area of 342.85 hectares of the 3,409 hectares of the total area of the mining concession area. Inverse distance method in Surpac more produce lower data precision when compared with the method of the polygon and the triangle on Minescape in coal resource tonnage calculations, ie, with an average coefficient variance of 55.60% for Surpac and 22:50% to Minescape, where the greater the coefficient of variance precision of data. Distance extrapolation method to produce precision Minescape more lower than the inverse distance method in Surpac to model the distribution of coal quality. Coefficient of variance produced by the method of extrapolation distance is equal to 5.86% and the method of inverse distance of 5:37%, where the greater coefficient of variance of the precision of data. T-test results of the coal tonnage calculations between Minescape and Surpac show that the method polygons and triangle on Minescape further illustrate better response but in the graph does not have a very significant difference to the inverse distance method in Surpac. T-test values for the calculation of tonnage produced is equal to 0.386. T-test results on the distribution of coal quality between Minescape and Surpac show that the method polygons and triangle on Minescape further illustrate better response but in the graph does not have a very significant difference to the inverse distance method in Surpac. T-test values generated for the distribution of quality is equal 0.541Hasil incision drill holes produced by Minescape give more detailed description of the geometry of coal, in this case is kemenerusan coal seam and coal seam thickness, so that the output (2D and 3D) of the model Minescape more information Keywords: Comparative modeling of coal resources, Minescape, Surpac, inverse distance, and the extrapolation distance
