- Grounding system is one of electric power system which has important role in distrib uting o verflow c urrent to gro und due to electric power sistem's no ise or tun der strike. In order to fulfill the officially standard safety regulation, (PUIL.2000), having almost zero resistances is required. In this research, two methods to decrease resistance grounding value would be compared and analized. T he first method was base d on groun ding rod e lectrode's addition values while it reached four parallel rod, which were grounded from 25 cm until 200 cm deep. The second method was based on bentoni t addition value used circle trench for single grounding rod electrode in 200 cm deep. From the result of single grounding rod electrode measurements in 25 cm deep, the resistance is 6 9,05 Ω, while the tw o parallel electro des is 3 4,5 Ω, the three parallel electro des was 2 2,03 Ω, and for the four paralle l electrodes was 17,8 9 Ω. For sing le electrode's ro d grou nding measurement in 2 00 cm deep, the resista nce was 23,95 Ω, wh ile the two parallel electro des wa s 1 2,13 Ω, three parallel electrode s was 8,36 Ω, and four parallel electro des was 6,48 Ω. For single gro und ing rod electro de which was used circle trench for 2 00 cm deep, the lowe st resistance was 1 1,85 Ω and from the theory result of single gro und ing ro d electrode with ben ton it was 1 8,33 Ω. This result showed the addition of parallel rod gave resistance grounding value's reduc tio n more signif icant compared with the method bentonit add ition f or single grounding rod electrode.
