- Background : Physician and other medical profession should applied professionalism. Knowledge, skill and professional conduct are parts of physician competencies. In conclusion, it is important to involve professional behaviour of physician in medical curriculum. In contrary, professional behaviour has not being determined clearly in curriculum, including it�s assessment process. It might be caused by lacking of agreement and understanding between medical educator itself about professional behaviour. Objective : This study aimed to explore skills laboratory instructor and student perception of behavioural component�s definition in professionalism. Method : This was a descriptive qualitative study with grounded theory approach in data analysis. Data were collected through interview of skills laboratory instructor with more than five years of experience and focus group disscussion of students with GPA > 3,50 of 4.00 scale. The result from interview and FGD were analyzed with open-axial coding and constant comparative. Result : Both student and skills laboratory instructur had similar perception of professionalism. Behavioural components in professionalism consisted of six items, which every item has similar sense with universal behavioral component. Cultural sensitivity is a characteristics and it is included in value of humanity. Keyword(s) : professionalism, medical professionalism, perception
