Daftar Isi:
- Pelung Chicken is a local Indonesian chicken singer that often competed. Indirectly this activity plays a role in preserving of Pelung Chicken. The absence of sound characterization complicates understanding for the fans who are still beginners. The characterization of FoxP2 gen was not done. The aim of this study is to characterize the basic sound Pelung Chicken, Pelung chicken champion crowing, the crowing inheritance patterns, and FoxP2 gene. The study was conducted by purposive sampling. The chickens champion hunting is done by following a sound competition of Pelung Chicken. Analysis of sound using Adobe Audition CS5.5 and PRAAT 5. 3 66 software. The analysis of crowing inheritance patterns made by a study case in Cibeber, Cianjur. FoxP2 gene analysis performed with DNA isolation stage, followed by PCR and sequencing. The results show the same crowing character Pelung Chicken with Kate Chicken and Mahkota Chicken which consists of the front, middle and the end crowing with special characteristic of each. Pelung Chicken champion should have a complete sound (the beginningmiddle- end), rhythmic, and harmonious sound. Chicken Pelung champion more able to control the energy expended. The duration of the sound does not affect the quality of the champion. F2, F3, F5, F2-F1 highly significant (> 5%) between kukulir and kekelur. Studies case show to produce champions Pelung Chicken done by inbreeding (KI reaches 0.89) which resulted rengket feet. Crowing inheritance pattern is poligen. Sekuent FoxP2 gene (230 bp) on Pelung Chicken have in common with chicken comparator (Kampung Chicken and Broiler Chickens) and showed no difference sequences with Gallus gallus from NCBI (XM_001232321.3).
