- Daun Dewa (Gynura pseudochina (L.) DC.) is a plant that has been used as a source of traditional medicine. The use of this plant as a source of antioxidant has not been explored. The objective of this studies were to determine the antioxidant activit ies and their class of this compounds and to determine correlation between total phenolic content (TPC) and antioxidant activities, total flavonoid content (TFC) and antioxidant activities. Samples extractions were done by maceration method using methanol and chloroform as solvents. The antioxidant activities were measured using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) test. The lowest value of IC 50 was fractionated by 8 eluens. The total phenolic content was measured using Folin-Ciocalteau method. The total flavonoid content was measured using Aluminum Chloride (AlCl 3) Colorimetri method. The classes identification of compound using FeCl3 and sitroborat reagent. The data were analyzed by regression correlation test , probit analysis, one way anova and DMRT test. The results showed that the methanol extract of Gynura pseudochina (L.) DC leaves had the high antioxidant activities with IC50 value of 281,84 Î1⁄4g / mL. The highest antioxidant activities of the fractions was chloroform : ethyl acetate (1: 3) elution at IC 50 value of 489,78 Î1⁄4g / mL. Total phenolic content and total flavonoid content in the methanol extract of the leaves had contributed to the antioxidant activit ies 98% and 95% respectively . The result of spray reaction showed that the compound in the potential fraction was phenol group.
