Daftar Isi:
- Huanglongbing (HLB ) is the most dangerous disease in citrus plants around the world. This disease is caused by bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus. HLB causes tree declining and no control method is available. One of prevention efforts is by biofertilizer application periodically. The purpose of this study were to determine whether the application of biofertilizer can improve the growth and development of citrus plants infected Ca. L. asiaticus. Two type of biofertilizer were used to determine the effectiveness to suppress HLB and tree development. HLB infection was detected by PCR. The results showed that biofertilizer application can reduced HLB infection in young citrus trees. The development of young citrus trees that infected by HLB was increased by biofertilizer application. A biofertilizer application was better than B biofertilizer in promoting the citrus tree growth. Nevertheless, biofertilizer application in HLB-infected mature citrus trees didnt reduced HLB infection. The development of HLB infected mature trees did not improve by the application of A biofertilizer either B biofertilizer application. According to the calculations of density of bacteria and bacterial community analysis, higher density and diversity of bacteria was found in the rhizosphere of healthy citrus without any biofertilizer applications.
