  • The study aims to figure out the abundance, the spatial distribution patterns, and the threats of picking up santigi on its sustainability in Maubesi Nature Reserve. The method is conducted by dividing the area of 3.462 hectares into 13 lanes. Each lane contains of 5 (five) plots in which the space is 50 meter, thus there are 65 observations with intensity sampling (IS) 0,02%. Numbers, height, and diameter of the vegetation on each plots is measured. The analysis of spatial distribution is conducted by analysis of Greig-Smith (1983) and descriptive analysis is conducted by interviews. The determination of total interviewee samples uses the technique of snowball sampling. The results show that the abundance of santigi at tree level is classified as less and lesser, the saplings are fair and adequate, and the seedlings are very good. Spatial distribution of santigi at the level of the tree, saplings, and seedling are clumped and random. Clumped pattern is caused by the arrangement of the seeds which tends to cluster when it falls below the stands added by the muddy habitat factors due to the high tides, whereas this kind of distribution patterns may threaten the sustainability of santigi. Random pattern as the effect of the spread of the fruit occurs through the wind and the water and the supporting habitat factor which is sandy soil, and this kind of distribution pattern is sustainability friendly. Sustainability prospect of santigi in Maubesi Nature Reserve is endangered, the larceny and public consumption is not comparable to its slow growth.
