- An earthquake is a natural phenomenon that�s occurs every certain period and often in occurs java. The damage coused by an earthquake depends on the size of the vibrations that reach the earth�s surface in the form of wafw flow. The earthquake in Yogyakarta in 2006 resulted in one of the joglo collapsed, the joglo bangsal Trajumas located within the Yogyakarta Palace. The amount of building damage numbers that occur in traditional building form the basis for the emergence of a major research issue is whether joglo vulnerable to earthquake forces. This study uses experimentsl method to utilize the model as an object of observation and the use of vibration producing tools. Therefore, the modeling becomes an important point in is execution. Im addition to modeling the building to be tested , the other important point is the manufacture of vibration �producing tools.Vibration generated , it is definitely not the same as the vibration caused by earthquake naturally, therefore making tools, whereverpossible approaching natural earthquake loading. Implementation of this research was conductedin the laboratory. The result of the trials show that the building has the shape joglo reliability in the resist lateral forces arising from the earthquake. By holding a special traetment at the point of connection between the components of building construction on joglo, will able to increase the strength of the structural system joglo resist lateral force of the earthquake.
