  • In some cases, there are many road constructions which are damaged in certain service life, though the goal is to provide roads in a good standard along with their functions. To achieve this objective, one of the efforts to increase the service life is by increasing the fungction of the asphalt as the binding material by utilizing an additive materials. This research was conducted to explore the effects of utilizing crumb rubber waste as an additive material to AC-BC mixture, despite the crumb rubber is not used well yet. This research was conducted by introduction crumb rubber waste as the additive material AC-BC mix, according to the 2010 spesification. This research was performed by manufacturing 108 samples with 0%, 5%, 10%, 12% of crumb rubber waste contents variation within xx% of Coarse Aggregate (CA), xx% of Fine Aggregate (FA), and xx% of filler, The crumb rubber was added after the aggregate and asphalt were mixed, referring to the former researches. Using the Marshall Method, the optimum asphalt content of each crumb rubber waste variation was determined. Further tests was generated based on the optimum asphalt contents of each variation in accordance to The Marshall Immersion test for a half hour and 24 hours at 600 C. Subsequently the Marshall stability, Inderct Tensile Strength, and Marshall Quotient. Based on the Marshall test results, stability value of crumb rubber with 0%, 5%, 10%, and 12% percentage were 1750 kg, 1766,54 kg, 1730,02 kg, and 1664,51 kg respectively, with residual stability value were 95,34%, 95,84%, 94%, 90,29% respectively. The ITS test result which meet the standard value of TSR < 80% had not been obtained, teh results obtained on the percentage of crumb rubber 0%, 5%, 10%, and 12% were respectively 74,87%, 75,86%, 74,10%, and 72,63%. Based on all of the results, it concluded that crumb rubber could be used as a substitute of stone dust in AC-BC mixture with optimum value from 5%. Because of the optimum asphalt content, since the mix did not get any crackings and deformation due the traffic laod easily. And then make the roads to be flexible. In spite of the adding the crumb rubber waste into the mix could decreased the optimum asphalt content. Key word : AC-BC, crumb rubber, pengujian Marshall, ITS.
