Daftar Isi:
- This study aims to: (1) assess the status of existing agricultural land use, (2) analyzing the land capability and farmers characteristics, and (3) formulate a sustainable land use directives. This study adopted a survey method on landform unit as the unit of analysis. Formulation of landslide susceptibility aspects, social aspects, economic aspects, and agricultural policy aspects are determined based on scoring techniques. Land capability evaluation was analyzed using Weight Factor Matching (WFM) according to the USDA criteria in Arsyad (1989). Determination of the direction sustainable land use is analysis with consideration of land use suitability aspect, landslide susceptibility aspects, and farmer characteristics aspect. The results of the land capability evaluation in the study area include in class IV, VI, VII, and VIII. Land capability subclass has a major limiting factor are soil texture, slope, erosion, and landslide susceptibility. Farmers characteristics on the social and economic aspects include in the category of high, medium, and low. Farmers characteristics in agricultural policy aspects include in the category of medium and low. Farmers characteristics in agricultural policy aspects of the high category is not found in the study area. The agricultural land use is not suitable of 3279.32 ha and occurred in class of land capability VI. Agricultural land use 36,46% (1975.87 ha) is recommended to change, otherwise agricultural land use 63,54% (3443.16 ha) is maintained according to the existing conditions. Sustainable land use directives to optimize the agricultural land use with develop the superior commodities especially is perennials, bark, coconut, coffee, cocoa, clove, and herbs, as well as increasing land productivity through the application of new technology package with guidance by agricultural mentor. Intensification of soil tillage in landslide susceptibility areas should be reduced, for example by applying a farming system of mixture garden or agroforestry.
