  • Industrial wastes containing chromium (Cr) is known as a pollutant source for agricultural land. The most safe and efficient recovery effort on Cr contaminated soils is bioremediation based on mutual interaction between plants and soil microbes (Rhizoremediation). The objective of this research is to determine secretomic component in the supernatant of Agrobacterium sp. I26 broth culture which plays a role in Cr transformation and its effect on Cr uptake by maize. Agrobacterium sp. I26 had been obtained from previous research and was cultured in broth minimal medium and centrifuged to obtain supernatant. Subsequently, SDS 1%, papaya latex extract, and NaOH 0,5N was added to supernatant prior to be exposed toward 15 ppm Cr (VI), then the total Cr concentration was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) and the Cr(VI) concentration analyzed by the colorimetric method (diphenyl karbazid). The treated supernatants were applied to the maize and then analyzed Cr uptake by plants (bioassay). The results showed that the transformation of 15 ppm Cr(VI) by treatment of papaya latex extract, NaOH, SDS, and minimal medium (control) to 1,07
