Daftar Isi:
- Ciprofloxacin in broiler body will undergo pharmacokinetic phase includes the process of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion from the body. This study aims to describe the pharmacokinetics of ciprofloxacin in plasma, liver, kidney, and breast muscle of broilers, after administration of a single dose of 50 mg/kg of body weight (bw) intravenously using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). A total of 42 healthy broilers of DOC (day old chicken) maintained to achieve a body weight of 1.0-1.5 kg were given antibiotic-free feed and water ad libitum. Ciprofloxacin was injected intravenously at a dose of 50 mg/kg bw. Blood samples were taken at minute of 1, 5, 15, 30, hour of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, day of 1, 3, 5, and 7 after treatment and sacrificed by decapitation to take liver, kidney, and breast muscles, with each time of sampling used 3 broilers. Samples at minute 0 also taken on 3 broilers without treatment. Samples were extracted and analyzed using HPLC. Ciprofloxacin pharmacokinetics parameter calculated by non-compartment models. The maximum concentration (Cmax) of ciprofloxacin in plasma, liver, kidney, and breast muscle respectively 15.3 mg/mL
