- The management and utilization of forest products in DAS Matakabo without followed by conservation efforts resulted in the extensive forests and vegetation are becoming increasingly diminished, so it functions as a subsystem in the system of protection of the Watershed as a whole be reduced. Methods of research conducted includes the study of literature, data collection, and data processing and analysis that includes the calculation of the rate of erosion by using The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) Methods, classification of the level of danger of Erosion (TBE), the value of the Sediment Delivery Ratio (SDR), the direction of land use, as well as erosion control efforts with building and Land Conservation engineering sabo. The study was intended to determine the magnitude of the influence of land erosion in Matakabo Watershed, so it can be determined the proper mitigation methods in solving problems of erosion and deposition of sediments occurs. From the results of analysis of the erosion that occurs in DAS Matakabo by 7.71 mm/year and has exceeded the allowable threshold. Erosion sediment yield of sediment in the dam holds Matakabo of 148,809.31 m3/year. The response rate of sediment by using building chek dam produce a 9 unit with charging time of 37 years, whereas the countermeasure after erosion by way of land conservation and erosion rate reduction happens to be 3.00 mm/year, so sabo was building a charging time 95 years.
