  • Background: The Installation of Medical Records of Mental Hospital Grhasia, provides a sequential shift --- day-night shift, the work time starts at 14.00 to 07.30 at the next day or the same as 17 hours 30 minutes of work so it is categorized overtime (there is a full work shift sequence). In the implementation of the medical records, the case of multi tasks occurs so that the tasks are overworked. Objective: This study aims to recalculate the need of medical record human resources in Mental Hospital Grhasia Yogyakarta based on job descriptions and workloads. Method: This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The research design used is a cross-sectional design. Data collection techniques in this study are the observation, interview and documentation. The subject is all the medical record officers with a total of 11 people in the Installation of Medical Record. The object of the study is Medical Record activities. Results: This study shows that activities in the Installation Medical Record include registration outpatients, inpatients registration, filing, assembling, coding, and reporting as well as additional tasks outside the job description. The implementation of these activities is based on job descriptions and SPO. The result of calculation of human resources needs by using WISN shows that there are 11 people.They are divided into chift and certain job as follows : 1) 1 person as the head of installation, 2) 1 person take turn orshifting, 3) 3 person off after carrying outthe day-night shift duties, 4) 5 person morning shift duties,5) 1 person the day-night shift duties.
