The magnitude of stream discharge at each tributary is different at each occurrence of heavy rains, depending on subwatershed where the rain occurred. The hydrograph characteristics of flood in tributaries (lateral inflow) and travel time of flood from upstream to downstream boundary can be discovered by a simulation of several occurrences of rain. Purpose of this study is to find out the characteristic of flood in Bengawan Solo River on reach of Colo Weir - Kota Surakarta. The first step is to do the unit hydrograph analysis and the preliminary analysis of watershed parameters. Then, a hydrologic model is arranged by the HEC-HMS program for the calibration of watershed parameters on the real time occurrence of rain and stream discharge, so that the optimum parameters which represent the characteristics of watershed can be found. Using the optimum ones, the simulation of several occurrences of rain can be done. The results of the study show that characteristic of flood in Bengawan Solo River on reach of Colo Weir - Kota Surakarta is affected by lateral inflow of the tibutaries between Colo Weir, Sukoharjo and Jurug, Surakarta Municipality. In occurence of the great flood in 2007, the contribution of Dengkeng River and Samin River peak discharge is 37,73% and 47,32% of peak discharge in AWLR Jurug, Surakarta, whereas the contribution of the weir Colo only 37.02%. The result of simulation in the occurrence of evenly distributed rain in the upstream of research area, the largest contribution of lateral inflow is from Dengkeng River with travel time of the peak discharge is 20 hours. In the occurrence of evenly distributed rain in the downstream of research area, the largest contribution of lateral inflow is from Samin River with travel time of the peak discharge is 10 hours after the rain was started.</description><publisher>[Yogyakarta] : Universitas Gadjah Mada</publisher><date>2014</date><type>Thesis:Thesis</type><type>PeerReview:NonPeerReviewed</type><identifier> , BOBI ARINA RIZKI A and , Bapak Dr. Ir.
