Bambang Triatmodjo, CES., DEA</creator><subject>ETD</subject><description>Pile foundation is mostly used to support marine structures and offshore platforms. Piles as a structural element of marine structures are required to resist lateral loading due to wave and current force. The extreme wave and current forces can damage pile which have been driven. In some cases, wave and current force are main problem in marine structures construction .The general purpose of this study is to determine the wave force and current force acting along a pile and to determine lateral load capacity of pile that resist lateral loading due to wave and current force. This study presents a comprehensive analysis with mathematical solution about lateral load capacity of pile that subjected wave and current force. The case study was carried out in the Trestle of Liquid Bulk Terminal, Kuala Tanjung Port, North Sumatera. All data that are used were collected from instituitions are related to this project, Kuala Tanjung Port Expansion. The analysis of this study used theoritical approach and numerical approach by using SAP2000 software, especially for wave force analysis. The theoritical and numerical analysis shows the critical wave forces and current forces that act along a pile is 8.80 kN. By static mechanism loading, lateral load capacity of one pile that embedded 30 m soil depth is 21.3 kN. Value of lateral load capacity is greater than sum of wave force and current force.
