cervical cancer progress further. The examples of detecting methods are Pap
smear and IVA. The society�s awareness of the importance of cervical cancer
screening is needed. Therefore, the aim of this study is to find out the knowledge,
attitude, and acceptance level and the relationship between the knowledge and
attitude toward cervical cancer screening acceptance for women in Wonosari,
Gunungkidul and Danurejan, Yogyakarta.
This study is descriptive analytical research using cross sectional design.
The data were taken using purposive sampling while the data instrument was
questionnaires. A hundreds correspondents took part in this research. Then, the
data were analyzed statistically using frequency descriptive analysis. For knowing
the relationship, the researcher used crosstab and chi square.
The finding of this study shows that 68% respondents had high
knowledge, 57% had positive attitude and 90% respondents had an intention to do
the cervical cancer screening. The experience frequency of cervical cancer
screening has a significant relationship toward the knowledge level (p=0.019).
There is no significant relationship between the attitudes and the experience
frequency of cervical cancer screening (p>0.05). The frequency of cervical cancer
information acceptance experience had a significant relationship toward the
acceptance of cervical cancer screening (p=0.016). There is no significant
relationship between the knowledge and the attitude (p=0.332) and between the
attitude and the acceptance of cervical cancer screening (p=0.637). There is a
significant relationship between the knowledge and the acceptance of cervical
