- Endometritis was inflammation of uterine wall occurs because of infection. That inflamation could be increasing the days open (DO) or the period between calving and conception. Povidone iodin was known as endometritis therapeutics in cow. The aims of this research were determining the effect of povidone iodin 1,5% treatment to days open (DO) of Simpo with endometritis.. The number of cows that used in this research were 5 head of Simpo cows from Kandang Laboratorium Ternak Potong Kerja dan Kesayangan Fakultas Peternakan UGM. The ages of cows were between 4 until 8 years old and had been calved once in minimum. The cows were be diagnosed that suffered endometritis which clinical sign as purulent excudate discharge from vulva. That Simpo cows were be treated with povidone iodin 1,5% by intrauterine infution. Observation been done every day and focused on vulvic discharge, colour discharge, discharge consisttention, and oestrus expression of cows. The heat cow would be inseminated with frozen semen. The rectal exploration to knowing pregnancy would be done after 60 days after arsificial insemination. The conclusion from this research was days open of Simpo cows that suffered endometritis and treated povidone iodin 1,5% intrauterine infussion is 181 days.
