- This final paper is a translation of Japanese short stories titled �Nodo ga Kawaita� by Uurii Orurebu and �Ame Tama� by Niimi Nankichi. The reason why the writer choose those stories is not only because those stories are amusing, but because the moral value they have. Besides, those stories have not been translated yet. During the translation process, the writer use a communicative method. It is a method that keeps the contextual meaning of the source language, so the target language will be easy to understand by the readers. The short story wich title is �Nodo ga Kawaita� tells about a childhood story of a litle boy who lived in a dormitory. They were thirsty and fought for water because the lived in a barren place. The second story, �Ame Tama� tells about a mother and her childrens who met a samurai on a ship. The moral value of �Nodo ga Kawaita� are: we must be friendly with others and respect to others. While, the moral value of the second story �Ame Tama� are: do not judge a book by its cover and we must share with others.
