  • Kamojang geothermal field has been operating since 1983. This field has association with volcanic activity, so there is a need to do an evaluation of hydrothermal fluids in order to observe magmatic water in the system. There was a decline of steam production in Kamojang geothermal field. One of efforts for keeping heat and mass balances in the reservoir is by reinjection wellâ��s optimalization. All of informations that were obtained from these evaluations will be used for arranging the steam field management strategies in Kamojang geothermal field. In these researches, water samples were taken from 12 production wells, 2 reinjection wells, and 4 cold springs in the surrounding of Kamojang geothermal field. Stable isotopes were analyzed using Liquid Water Isotope Analyzer LGR DLT-100 for determining the isotope compositions of oxygen-18 (Î ́18O) and deuterium (Î ́D). According to isotope composition of water samples from production wells and cold springs, the average values for Î ́D and Î ́18O in Kamojang geothermal field were -46.37 â�° and -8.32 â�°, respectively. These value were in the range of Kamojangâ��s LMWL and wide of magmatic waterâ��s composition. It had been proven that hydrothermal fluids in this field was meteoric origin, no evidence that hydrothermal fluids was magmatic origin. The highest 18Oshiftâ��s value which was obtained in Kamojang field is +2.10 â�° when w/r ratio was 2.21 (production well K-9017). It showed that oxygen isotopes exchanged between water and rock in this field continued effectively when w/r value was ~2. According to chart relation of Î ́D and Î ́18O, there were some indications about the interconnection between K-9017 and K-9005 (horizontal distances was 1078 m)
