  • Cat is an animal that have a high level of welfare. Most purebred cats get special treatment, both in terms of feed, enclosure and its treatment. This is unlike the domestic cat which tend to be preserved as it is. These behavioral differences may lead to differences in health status of the cats. Purebred cats that tend to get preferential treatment from the feed and its treatment should get better health status than domestic cats with feed and care for granted, therefore the data needed to find out the status of his health. To find out the health status of the cat can be done through blood test. Through the blood tests, the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit values can be calculated. The purpose of this study is to determine the health status of the domestic cats and the persian cats. This study conducted on 17 domestic cats and 18 Persia cat. Erythrocytes count, hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value are calculated in the blood tests. Blood test was conducted at Prof. Soeparwi Animal Hospital. After that, the data obtained will be analyzed with method of statistical analysiss. The results of this study show that erythrocytes count, hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value are 8.16±1.43x106/Î1⁄4l, 11.63±2.05g/dl, 34.54±6.15% on domestic cat and 8.70±1.78x106/Î1⁄4l, 12.99±1.74g/dl and 38.61±5.46% on persian cat are still in the normal interval and there was no significant difference (P>0,05) between the blood description of domestic cats with persian cats.
