- This research explains beauty products reviews which are contained in beauty blog Babillages and woman magazine Femme Actuelle for edition 1511, 1516, and 1523. The scopes of research are the function of language and communication components. The purpose of this study is to describe the differences of language function by using the theory of Roman Jacobson. Dell Hymes theory is used to determine what communication components can affect the function of language differences in both media. The results of this analysis are, first, the most distinctive differences of language function, which are the emotive function, conative function, and phatic function. Second, communication components that cause these differences which are scene (psychological situation), participants (those involved in communication), ends (the intent and purpose of communication), and instrumentalities (the media used). Key words: language function, media, communication
