In addition, the number of the agricultural products is directly proportional to the abundance of waste. It is one of the problems in the agricultural production activities that required attention. The processing and the utilization of the agricultural waste are expected to be able to solve these issues, such as the creation of artificial board products, i.e. particleboards. Generally particleboards use synthetic adhesives that are less environmentally friendly and renewable, making it necessary to find other alternatives to solve this problem, namely the chitosan-based adhesives that are derived from crab shell waste. The main material of this research is corncob waste and natural adhesive from crab shell. The factor used is the adhesive concentration of 10%, 20%, and 30% and the compression temperature of 160oC and 180oC. This particleboard manufacturing refers to the process of particleboard manufacturing standards. The testing products include physical properties (moisture content, density, thickness swelling, and water absorption) and mechanical properties ( internal bonding, modulus of rupture, and modulus of elasticity) based on the Japanese Industrial Standard for particle boards (JIS A 5908 Type-8). The best properties of particle boards from corncob waste were obtained from the treatment of 10% adhesive concentration and the temperature of 180oC, where only the value of the moisture content, density, and internal bonding meet the standards of JIS A 5908 Type-8, with a value of water content of 10,97%, density of 0,876 g/cm2, the thickness swelling of 91,249%, water absorption of 161,022%, internal bonding of 2,827 kg/cm2, modulus of rupture of 39,328 kgf/cm2, and modulus of elasticity of 9203,470 kgf/cm2.</description><publisher>[Yogyakarta] : Universitas Gadjah Mada</publisher><date>2014</date><type>Thesis:Thesis</type><type>PeerReview:NonPeerReviewed</type><identifier> , ALIFIA ZULFARAH K and , Agus Ngadianto, S.Hut., M.Sc.
