- Basically the heat of the sun has an important role in life. For example, in everyday life, the heat from the sun is very involved in the drying process. But this process will be interrupted when there are disturbances like rain. Therefore required an innovation to make the drying process so as not to be disturbed. At the end of this task has been made a prototype automation system settings open and close the roof by using a rain sensor and RTC based Arduino UNO is designed with the aim to facilitate the drying process. In this system rain sensor is used to detect the presence of rain falling, RTC (Real Time Clock) as a time control of the system, the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) as a viewer of the time on the RTC and the description of the condition of the roof, the servo motor as the driving force of the roof, and Arduino UNO as the central processing program. From the experiments that have been conducted, the results showed that the roof will be closed when the rain sensor detects the presence of water. But when the rain sensor does not detect the presence of water the roof will be open. Besides closing the roof is also controlled by the control time has been set at RTC. From the rain sensor and the timing at RTC that will activate the actuator of a servo motor from system.
