- This report is about protection and safety of Vital Records. The objective is to determine protection and safety Gambar Situasi and Gambar Ukur as a Vital Records of section measurement and basic mapping and section thematic mapping of Kanwil BPN D.I. Yogyakarta in order to protect and secure the Vital Records from destruction and obliteration. The method of data collection was in three stages, including a literature study which aims to find relevant literatures of the research. Second, observation of participation which aims to observe directly through survey or directly involved. Third, the interview which aims to collect the data and the source from the interviewed. The conclusion is protection and safety Gambar Situasi and Gambar Ukur as a Vital Records of section measurement and basic mapping and section thematic mapping of Kanwil BPN D.I. Yogyakarta has not accomplished in accordance with the appropriate rules of Archives. In the implementation of protection and safety of Vital Records, the constrants faced are the limited facilities and of compliance with existing standards and the lack of knowledge in the field of Archives Arschivist.
