- Oxytocine is hormone which has strong action on parturition and lactation. It effects strongthen the parturition by trigger and also make the contraction stronger and control the bleeding. The objective of this research is to know the oxyotocine injection�s effect to the duration of parturition. This research used 14 pregnant cats as objected. Those cats divided in to two groups. Seven cats as controlled group (no injection of oxytocin) and the remains as treatmented group (using injection of oxytocin solution at second stage of partus). The method of research is observed duration of parturition. The results showed that mean duration of normal parturition is 202,43±111,06 minutes, and mean duration of parturition with oxytocin injection is 86,67±20,77 minutes. Using α 0,05, the duration analysis give us p-value at 0,03. Because of pvalue is less than 0,05, it means that injection of oxytocin give result significantly.
