Daftar Isi:
- Chinese developmental model is a debatable issue in developmental studies. As Socialist-Leninist state, China succeed growing its economy by adopting free market economy, which then made China more interesting and complicated at once. Yet, there is no strict consensus on developmental model that China might adopt. The research discusses about how transformation occurred in Chinas development process. The research attempts to analyze developmental model that China really applied by tracing Chinese development transformation from a phase to another phase. The research also emphasizes on how state played its role in every phase of development, and initiated transformation itself. This research is a literature studies and utilizes primary data which are obtained from books, journal, and related researches. Not only exploring Chinas development policy, the research also examines theories in developmental studies and highlights developmental model in Statist School of thought such as developmental states (DS) and its transformative variant. It is a descriptive research and employs deductive analysis. The research then argues that China adopt a statist developmental model where state played its role in development process significantly. The research also observes that state become more responsive in every stage of development, which then opened opportunity to nurture its capacity in adapting global change. In globalization, states role even become more crucial and effective. Due its responsive capacity, China then became a transformative developmental state or TDS. In the end, China could be treated as main example of how alternative model of development works, challenging neoliberals as recent mainstream model of development.
