- Analysis of acoustic impedance inversion is proposed for mapping subsurface condition. Due to this research, the method is also used to determine sandstone distribution and depostional environment of AR field. Inversion process started by analyzing crossplot of prospect area among acoustic impedance log and gamma ray log which got from well data. Well seismic tie is important due to get a good representation of subsurface condition in horizontally and vertically direction, then continued by picking horizon on top and bottom of prospect area. The next step is slicing the inversion result to determine sandstone distribution based on the value of acoustic impedance and analysis depositional environment. Based on the acoustic impedance result, the range of acoustic impedance in research area is 7500 � 14000 ((m/s).(gr/cc)), which the low of acoustic impedance value (7500 � 9800 ((m/s).(gr/cc)) is interpreted as sandstone with the distribution is located in north � south direction. Depositional environment setting which is got from slicing on the result of acoustic impedance inversion is delta, mean while the facies is distributary mouth bar.
