Daftar Isi:
  • Magnetic nanoparticle Cobalt Ferrite (CoFe2O4) have been successfully synthesized through coprecipitation method, by mixing CoCl2.H2O and FeCl3.H2O at 80°C, mixed for 120 minutes, with spinning speed of 1000 rpm, and 5 M NaOH as coprecipitant. Silica coated Cobalt Ferrite has been modified the surface of Cobalt Ferrite with various concentration of silica 50%, 30%, 20%, 15%, 10% and 5%. The structure and size of the particles were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). XRD test results showed reduced lattice parameter values after functionalization with silica. TEM test results indicated that the particle size of CoFe2O4+ silica is greater than CoFe2O4, The results from magnetization test using a Vibrating Sample Manetometer (VSM) suggested that CoFe2O4 + silica has a higher coercivity than CoFe2O4, lower magnetic remanence and saturation than CoFe2O4. Functional group bonding test, performed using Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy (FTIR) showed that the Fe-O absorption peak in CoFe2O4, shifted towards higher wave numbers after the functionalization with silica due to lower vibrational energy as the result of absorption by the silica
