Daftar Isi:
  • This study aims to determine the levels of the hormone triiodothyronine (T3) in the plasma and follicular fluid to determine the reproductive status of productive cows and function hormone triiodotironin (T3) in reproduction. This study uses 9 tails of beef cattle slaughtered in Slaughterhouse Giwangan, Yogyakarta. Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein and isolated from ovarian follicular fluid collected after cow slaughter . Examination was conducted using commercial ELISA kits. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) one-way. The results of measurements of the average levels of triiodothyronine (T3) in plasma was 1.98 ± 0.37 Î1⁄4g/dl while in the follicular fluid levels of T3 higher at 2.36 ± 0.43 Î1⁄4g/dl. From the results showed that the levels of triiodothyronine (T3) in the follicular fluid was higher than in the blood plasma, while the statistics of the results is unknown if there is no significant difference between the average levels of T3 in the blood plasma and follicular fluid. Conclusions found that there was no significant difference between the average of T3 in the blood plasma and follicular fluid, because it has the same activity in the role of metabolism including one ovarian function in the growth and maturation of follicles so that this test can be used as an indicator to determine the status of reproduction in beef cattle.
