- Land use is a concrete manifestation of the influence of human activities on the physical portion of the earth 's surface . This study aims to map land use in the region by using the Sleman District of ASTER VNIR imagery , multispectral imagery unsupervised classification method (supervised) that aims to extract the pattern - the pattern of the dominant spectral response mainly contained within the image itself. This study uses SAGA GIS software and ASTER VNIR image June 2010 . Parameters - other parameters needed are land cover classification according to ISO (2001) and land use classification by Malingreau (1981) Map of land use in the Sleman District of results obtained from the overlay (merging) land cover maps derived from digital image classification and landform maps , which are checked by field survey of land use that generate a final map map of Land Use District of Sleman . Land Use Map contains 10 types of land use is industrial (107.09 ha) , shrub (96.36 ha) , irrigated fields (713.5 ha) , vacant land with little vegetation (240.99 ha) , township (70.75 ha) , open land (368.58 ha) , lakes (40.4 ha) , crop mix (338.59 ha) , field / moor (321.15 ha) , and a mixed plantation (505.16 ha) .
